Samantha Hearn is a Nashville writer and photographer. She graduated from MTSU with a degree in journalism and a double minor in global studies and theatre. She was the Photography Editor for Sidelines her senior year.

Samantha traveled to Paris, France in the summer of 2014 as producer and sound engineer of a documentary called "Fighter," premiering in the US on Sept. 30 at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville.

She was a federal courts journalist for the Seigenthaler News Service at The Tennessean in Nashville in 2013. She previously interned at The Tennessean in summer 2013, covering local news and the occasional fat cat.

Samantha won the 2012 College Media Association's Apple Award for Best Cover Design for her work with Volunteer State Community College's student-run magazine, The Pioneer. She was honored with a resolution from the Tennessee Senate in 2011 for her award-winning issue of The Pioneer in 2010, being recognized as Best Magazine in Region 12 and as a National Finalist for Best Magazine by the Society of Professional Journaists.

In her free time Samantha enjoys traveling, the outdoors, film, and art.
